Aleida Guevara Remembers Her Father, Che / Ausencia Presente (DVD)
Aleida Guevara, directed by Carlos A. García
Aleida Guevara remembers with great tenderness and insight the man the world knows as Che
Who was the real Che? Aleida Guevara, who was seven years old when her father died, separates the myth from the man. This moving documentary reveals the extraordinary bond between her parents and describes a side to Che previously unseen—Che the loving husband and father. Aleida recounts several fascinating anecdotes from her childhood and describes coming to terms with her father's decision to go to Bolivia, as well as her own decision to follow in his footsteps.
Aleida Guevara is the eldest daughter of Ernesto Che Guevara and Aleida March. She works as a pediatrician in Havana and is an international activist for social justice.
